FAQs
What happens in the first session?
The first session is a space to pause. To exhale. You don’t need to have a clear narrative or a list of goals—we’ll begin by exploring what’s feeling heavy, stuck, or unsustainable in your current life. I’ll ask some thoughtful questions to get a sense of your story, your pressures, and what support might look like. We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you.
Is therapy really for me? I’m functioning just fine… mostly.
You may be managing work, relationships, deadlines, and expectations—on the outside, things look okay. But inside? You might be exhausted, anxious, detached, or wondering why it still doesn’t feel like enough. You don’t have to be in crisis to need or deserve support. High-functioning people often carry the most invisible weight.
Will therapy be productive? I need something that works.
Therapy can be both reflective and results-oriented. We’ll look at what’s not working in your patterns, relationships, or inner life—but without judgment. This is not just a place to vent. It’s a space to understand, recalibrate, and move forward with more clarity and self-trust. You might find that “doing less” internally actually makes you more effective—and more at peace.
How much does Therapy Cost?
Therapy is one of the most meaningful investments you can make—in your emotional well-being, your relationships, your clarity, and your capacity to live with greater ease and authenticity. It’s not just about solving problems; it’s about creating space to understand yourself more deeply, to untangle old patterns, and to reconnect with what really matters to you. Like any investment, it takes time and commitment—but the return is real: a stronger sense of self, greater resilience, and a more rooted presence in your life.
Intake Session: $250
Individual Session (50 min.): $160
Couples/ Family Session: $200
I believe that therapy should be accessible, and I understand that financial circumstances vary. A limited number of sliding scale spots are available for clients who may need a reduced fee. If cost is a concern, I welcome you to reach out—we can talk about options together.
I currently accept BC/BS of Maryland and Johns Hopkins EHP. If you do not have one of these insurances I do offer a statement that can be submitted to your insurance company. Every insurance plan is different and reimburses at different rates. It is important to ask your insurance company for specific details.
How Much Does Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy Cost?
Mindfullness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) is a full fee of $600 for the course. The course is an 8 week program that meets for an hour and a half each time. In addition to this there are two brief check in times that happen with me, one at the beginning and the other around midway through the program. At this time insurance is not accepted for this group because it is a unique program.
Good Faith Estimate
Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of services if you are not using insurance.
You can request this estimate at any time. I will also provide one automatically prior to our first session, so you can make informed decisions about your care.
